John is the Consulting Director for Goldleaf Partners. His team provides options for businesses to improve their retirement plan design and straight-forward solutions for making corrections when plans experience challenges. He has been building his knowledge and experience in the retirement industry for more than 25 years. John’s start with a small TPA firm in Kansas City moved into defined benefits services at American Century, outsourcing with Aon, and consulting with Milliman. Now as the Consulting Director of Goldleaf Partners, John provides alternatives and straight-forward solutions for plan designs and problem resolution. John’s expertise includes 401(k), 403(b), 457(b), 457(f), 409A, MEPs, defined benefit, governmental, and church plans. 

With an IRS ERPA designation and ASPPA’s CPC and QPA credentials, John has presented at the ASPPA ABC in Minneapolis and the ERISA Forum in Des Moines, and currently serves on the Plan Consultant Committee of ASPPA’s Plan Consultant magazine.

Personal Information

John and his wife, Kathryn, currently reside with their three children in West Des Moines, Iowa. In addition to time spent with his family, John is the treasurer of his church, enjoys traveling, playing cards, and supporting the Iowa State Cyclones.
