Michael is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Goldleaf Partners. He leads the strategic direction and development of the firm.
He has over 25 years of experience as a tax and employee benefits consultant to private and public sector employers. Types of clients Michael has served include Fortune 500 employers, small privately-held corporations, state governments, and school districts.
His industry experience includes 15 years in public accounting with Deloitte and CliftonLarsonAllen. He has worked extensively with the taxation, design, and administration of all types of retirement plans, welfare plans, and nonqualified executive deferred compensation arrangements. He also has significant experience representing clients on audit and related issues before the Internal Revenue Service and the Department of Labor.
Michael has served as an adjunct professor for the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, and Metro State University on deferred compensation curriculum. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Managerial Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin system, and a Master’s Degree in Business Taxation, Carlson School of Management from the University of Minnesota.
Michael lives in western Wisconsin where he enjoys “farming”, golfing, and running. He has two daughters and enjoys traveling with his family.
